    Vehicle Details
Offered for sale is my beautiful, rust-free, very original, 1971 Lemans Sport Convertible. Includes numbers-matching original 350 engine with (newer) 2-barrel carb. The engine is in excellent condition, has great compression, and burns no oil. Also has the original TH350 auto transmission, power steering and power brakes. All gauges and switches work, interior lights work, but AM radio does not work. The power convertible top is original, has a glass rear window, and is in excellent condition. Has 15” mint chrome Pontiac Rally Wheels, full spare tire (also mounted on chrome rally wheel), original jack, original convertible top boot/cover, original interior and seats, factory tach (instead of clock), owners manual, dealer sales slip, and protecto-plate from June 1971. 1971 Pontiac factory shop manual also included.
New parts: 4 new BFG Radial T/A tires ( 255/60-15 rear and 215/60-15 front), chrome Grant steering wheel, recent front disc brake conversion, recent dual exhaust, new 1” rear coil spring spacers with new rubber insulators, recent Rochester OEM carb, recent radiator, and recent rear shocks.
New underdash gauge cluster, new carpets, and new door, trunk, and windshield pillar weatherstripping.
This car has no issues. It starts, stops, and drives great. It has been garaged and carefully maintained for 50 years. ( It’s 50th birthday was in June 2021). I recently scraped off most of the old-school undercoating and painted the frame, rockers, floors, and rear end with POR-15. A big, time-consuming, messy, but worthwhile project.
I believe I am only the 3rd owner. This car has never been modified, which is becoming rare for these popular A-body GM cars. Over the years most have given into the tempation to “clone” these cars into GTO’s. There is no body filler anywhere that I can find, and all panels line up perfectly. Doors, trunk, and hood all open and close well. Windows crank up and down easily and do not rattle when down. Rocker panels and wheel wells are equally solid and rust-free. I removed and cleaned the stainless rocker trim and also painted the rockers with POR-15. There are no dings, dents, or paint issues. There is a small edge chip on the drivers door window front edge, all other glass is perfect. The only re-paint was in 1992, when color was changed from green to black. Paint still shines very well and I would rate it an “8”.
This ‘71 Lemans Sport Convertible is currently registered and NH state inspected. It gets plenty of attention wherever it goes.
The only noteworthy blemishes on this car are the following items:
    1. 1 Very Small 1/8x1/2” chip on the front edge of the drivers door glass
    2. A few spider cracks on dash top in right and left corners. I sealed inside these cracks using a clear adhesive.
    3. Original Rear view mirror glass has some fogging
    4. Both original exterior door handles have mild pitting of the chrome
If you want to see additional pictures of specific details or areas of the car let me know and I will send to you.
