Description
A TRUE AND VERIFIED 1970 LS6 THAT WAS FOUND IN RESEDA, CALIFORNIA, PARKED SINCE ITS FORMER RACE DAYS IN 1983. NOT A SINGLE SPOT OF RUST ON ANYTHING, An original rust free and undamaged body ready for you to paint and show....Investment grade and stellar originality in this car, from the original wheel well trim, the complete hood pin assembly, cowl induction parts, the surviving mechanics,brakes, even the original air cleaner decals to the unbelievable interior...... "nearly every part is original and pristine, no repop items were used. The headlights shine like diamonds in un pitted chrome bezels.."Original Color for this SS 454 LS6 is 75 Cranberry Red with Black stripes, but this gem is temporarily sprayed in satin black as the current owner restored the car and has yet to have the car painted. A black Vinyl Bench Seat interior is all original except for bottom of the front bench seat only, original carpet and door panels still survive in fantastic condition, Dash is beautiful and all original with some minor radio opening modification. Body, Floors and Trunk are all solid rust free original sheet metal and never restored along with the complete “Born With” Drive train which includes CRV Motor, M22 rock crusher four speed Transmission and CRV Posi 3.31 Rear Axle. Scheduled build date of this car was the 1st week of April 1970 on the Cowl Tag. Car was sold to a California Resident Built out of the Van Nuys California GM Plant. So it came with the mandatory NA9 Evaporative Emission Control System which the owner still has all of the NA9 parts that come with the car including the correct 4491 Holley Carb and hard to find Evaporator canister.
This 70 Chevelle SS I'm presenting today is an extremely original LS6 car with an all original and beautiful Body, Floors, Doors, Trunk lid and a pristine late design Cowl induction Hood. A former race car in the Southern California area so it was not driven very much and always in a dry hot climate. Car does NOT have a Build Sheet but the drive train speaks for itself having all its true stampings, Van Nuys would stamp the Vin on the Motor by the Rough Cast area by the oil filter and it is faintly still there but very readable. Car also comes with California Vin verification from the CHP. The current owner did take the non-pitted frame off and powder coated it satin black. Many documented photos of the car being stripped to the bare metal before it was painted satin black, owner chose to leave tiny dings on the car so next owner can see the true metal UNDAMAGED history of the body to paint and block sand the car to perfection. Front and Rear Bumpers are dent free but will need to be re-chromed. A perfect non cracked real Black plastic Front SS Grill was found and installed on the car (Center bar is painted white from an original white SS) because the red one was cracked. SS Wheels do come with GM trim Rings and correct Deep set Center caps on 5 brand new Firestone wide oval tires

Original components on the car included that are assembly line parts are 418 Starter, 437 Distributor, 837 Alternator, 4491 Holley carb, Original Flash Chrome Valve Covers, 293 BR Coil W/ bracket and bolts, Am 8 Track radio w/ knobs, correct Jack assembly, 811 Water Pump, Complete Back drive Reverse Lockout System, and comes with OER Exhaust pipes and hangers etc.…
Every single original part of the car was disassembled and rebuilt. The original brake calipers, wheel cylinders, BB master cylinder, slave units, and brake power booster. All new MOOG bushings, ball joints, tie rods, etc. New coil springs and KYB shocks.Transmission, and axle are rebuilt with warranty as are the starter, alternator, water pump, power steering pump and gearbox. Every nut and bolt is correct, wire wheeled, primed, pain ted, and greased. THERE HAS BEEN NO BONDO, NO BODYWORK, NO WELDS OR REPAIRS MADE ANYWHERE. Front nose and hod are perfect in alignment without ever have been hit. Trunk is gray like new with clean rust free mat. The original Radiator was changed, along with the fuel pump, and 1 rear brake line. Factory Smog System is missing except for the main bracket The 621 Bell Housing was changed to a Day 2 Vintage Lakewood scatter shield. The Air Cleaner assembly shows the single snorkel was nicely removed in the past, but car does come with replacement neck you can put on. The Rear tail pipe Chrome tips are included and are the GM Numbered Version.
