Rare 1969  One Shilling Africa Biafra coin.
Biafra, officially the Republic of Biafra, was a secessionist state in West Africa which existed from 30 May 1967 to January 1970. Biafra’s secession resulted in the Nigerian civil war. Upon their surrender to Nigerian forces, Biafra ceased to exist as an independent state in January 1970. Many of these coins were destroyed after the war, making this a rare and interesting piece of history.
